Two Hours Traffic
Two Hours Traffic

The Third Degree Burn is where each week we subject a different artist to a barrage of random and ofttimes fairly meaningless questioning. This week we ask  Andrew of Two Hours Traffic to feel the third degree burn.

Name & Rank: Andrew "Andy" MacDonald, Bassist and back up vocal man
Serial Number (Age):
25.
Group: Two Hours Traffic

Now let's get started:

Where are you from (hometown) and where are you now:
Andy:
We're all from Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada. Currently at home.

When did you start performing?
Andy:
Liam and Alec started writing songs together in high school but we didn't become a full-on rock and roll outfit until 2003.

How do you describe your music to people?
Andy:
Pop music to bob your head to.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
Andy:
"Don't bore us, get to the chorus."

Favorite new song from the past year:
Andy:
I was pretty obsessed with Daniel by Bat For Lashes. Largely because of my attachment to The Karate Kid.

Favorite new group from the past year:
Andy:
Think About Life.

Your most favorite all time group:
Andy:
The Pixies.

Your favorite song of all time:
Andy:
Beat It by Michael Jackson. Greatest pop song of all time

Group/Artist you’d like to work with most:
Andy:
Maybe Brian Eno. Or Nigel Godrich. Someone who can make a record sound like it's from another planet.

Last great concert you saw:
Andy:
Neil Young at Massey Hall in Toronto. Half acoustic and half electric. They had to put the electric guitars on him but once they were on he never stopped moving.

Last great film you saw:
Andy:
Spirited Away by Hayao Miyazaki.

An obscure group you think should be more popular:
Andy:
English Words (formerly Smothered In Hugs)

Your favorite musical instrument:
Andy:
Gena-Lee, my G&L bass.

Your last performance:
Andy:
We played last night at the PEI Music Awards only to be shut out of all the categories we were nominated for.

Your favorite City to perform in:
Andy:
There's something strange and magical about playing at George's Roadhouse in Sackville, New Brunswick. It's sort of like being in a David Lynch movie.

Your strangest fan moment:
Andy:
I had one fan tell me we're "Huge in Peru". That can't be right.

Your favorite venue:
Andy:
The Townehouse Tavern in Sudbury, Ontario. The bands sleep in the basement of the bar in a sort of dank apartment alongside a mountain of beer.

If you had your own country what would you name it?
Andy:
Andyland.
