Around the World and Back Again :: Imani Coppola

You may know singer/songwriter Imani Coppola from when she was introduced to the world with her hit “Legend of a Cowgirl” back in 1997 or you may know her from the several independent albums she has released over the years like: “Come and Get me… What?” (2000), “Post Traumatic Pop Syndrome” (2002), and “The Black & White Album” (2007). But many may be more familiar with her band Little Jackie’s most recent 2008 release “The Stoop”; a project in which she collaborated with producer Adam Palin.  We caught up with Imani at The Living Room in NYC on the last night of her Acoustic Residency series and she allowed us to get to know her a little bit better.

“I was born in New Jersey, so I’m a city girl.  Living in the suburbs can be a little different,” says Laila Odom about her move from Hollywood, to The Valley.  “I needed more space and more of a value,” says Laila, who plays Ana Marie Hawkings on Cinemax’s Sex Chronicles (which premiered October of 2008), adapted from the erotic book series written by the author Zane.
